Abseiling, also known as rappelling, is the second fastest way down a vertical drop to the bottom. Specialist equipment is used for a safe descent and consists of a harness, figure of eight, connector, helmet, gloves and kernmantel rope.
At Kamaja Outdoors, the children as young as 5 years old are taught on how to abseil down a purposely built wall, starting from sliding down, progressing into walking and at the end they try to loop. Abseiling helps to build self-belief and trust in oneself. |
